Welcome from LRI Director James Kaufman

Welcome to the Learning Research Institute at California State University, San Bernardino! We are a multidisciplinary institute with the fundamental goal of enhancing the CSUSB academic culture through research, speaker presentations, and student involvement. Our areas of research range a broad spectrum of topics reflecting the variety of interests and talents among our faculty and students. Recent areas of focus include intelligence and creativity, gender and race factors in education and learning, stereotype threat, and non-cognitive predictors of student success. Since its creation in 2001, the LRI has sponsored presentations by respected experts to the CSUSB community on topics including Intelligence and Aging, The Neurology of Creativity, Work-Family Balance, Flow, Leadership Development, and The Path of the Independent Artist. Finally, over the last 5 years, the LRI has provided research opportunities for more than 25 CSUSB students (undergraduate and graduate) and worked with many of these students to develop papers presented at professional conferences.

Please explore our website to learn more about LRI sponsored activities. We are always excited to explore opportunities for partnerships with researchers, community members, and of course CSUSB students!
